Governor Mao Thonin | Kampot Cambodia


Mao Thonin is the current governor of Kampot province in Cambodia. He is well-known among Cambodians for his methods in tackling disputes outside the court. Thonin has drawn the praise of Kampot’s citizenry and their appreciation for his efforts to resolve land disputes without using the court system as a first option.

During his tenure as governor, Mao Thonin focuse on promoting economic development, improving infrastructure and addressing environmental issues in the province and worked to promote tourism in Kampot, which is known for its natural beauty and historical sites. He has started accepting people’s requests and complaints through public forums.

Mao Thonin is a member of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), which is the ruling political party in Cambodia. He holds a degree in law from the Royal University of Law and Economics in Phnom Penh.
