The Kampot dam delivers approximately 193 megawatts of electricity to Electricité Du Cambodge (EDC). According to the Asian Development Bank (ADB), EDC Kampot gets its power from a high-voltage transmission line that connects Kampot to Sihanoukville. Sihanoukville has a diesel-based power system that is isolated from the national grid. However, there is also a plan to build a wind power project in Kampot by a French company called The Blue Circle, which could provide 80MW of renewable energy to the province. The project is still under negotiation with EDC over the tariff rate.
